In January of 2012, I spent over 2 weeks meeting with NGO’s, families, and groups throughout Cambodia with my university. The subject was Post Conflict Resolution and Trauma Healing – a very deep and complex subject, especially for Cambodia.
We were learning about how the country was rebuilding after its history of genocide, war, and turmoil. It was a very intense trip but we were led by some amazing mentors and facilitators. They encouraged us to write our thoughts and feelings down daily in a journal and led us through meditation sessions to help us process what we were learning.
